SharkBite PEX is a cross-linked polyethylene tubing best suited for potable water supply application. PEX Pipe is durable, flexible and corrosion resistant. SharkBite PEX features a repeating SharkBite imprint pattern that provides a visual aid to help you determine whether the tube has been fully inserted when using the SharkBite push-fit fitting range. In addition to Potable Water Supply SharkBite PEX meets UL Standard for Plastic Piping in Fire Systems.
- Manufactured without an oxygen barrier for potable water systems
- The tubing is printed with a SharkBite® imprint pattern that provides a visual aid to determine if the tube has been inserted all the way into the SharkBite® push-fit fitting
- This feature only works if the tubing is cut between the SharkBite® imprint pattern
- Strong, flexible, resilient tubing that provides superior temperature performance
- Flexibility: reduces the number of fittings needed to complete jobs, saving on overall cost and reducing leak points
- Chlorine and UV resistance: Highest-rated chlorine resistance, one month UV resistance
- Freeze resistance: PEX pipe is freeze-resistant and can expand slightly if frozen, PEX will contract back to its original form when thawed, PEX is not freeze-proof, PEX should be insulated to prevent freezing
